Noirvembers ago I remodeled my dollhouse office to be a 1940 detective/writer office. I made the desklamp, wrote an opening line for the typewriter, made the Victor diner mug and the ashtray. I rolled up tiny pieces of paper, set fire to each and snuffed it out in the ashtray. Some have lipstick, some not. I just acquired a Slade Templeton ghost for the chair. She came with a hairbrush, but I’ll craft a fountain pen for that hand soon.

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds catalog arrived today. This - along with full spectrum light bulbs - got me through Michigan winters. When I had to give up my farm plot, I asked book sculptor Allison Glasgow if she would make a figure from my favorite listings in the catalog. I sent her pieces of that year’s dream catchers. Now this winter dreamer, and full spectrum light bulbs, get me through Michigan winters.

Thought I saw a person in the mirror. There was a person in the mirror. So glad I had my phone in my pocket to capture this haunting image.
